– Good for travel as it is light and compact.I have a heavy daily beard growth and only a wet shave gives me a close shave.This does exactly as intended-it provides me with a comfortable and reasonably close shave .Good for a freshen up on a long day and can easily be kept in a coat pocket .Would not use as a main shaver but for travel it fits my requirements very well .A reasonable price for something only intended for occasional use.A basic cloth carry pouch would be useful as the very small cleaning brush is otherwise very easy to loose.

My favorite AA-powered foil shaver (compared to 5 other foil shavers) – I compared 5 different foil shavers, in order of preference. I have sensitive skin and none of these gave me the trouble with irritation, hair pulling, or ingrown hairs that I’ve had with others in the past. I used Eneloop NiMH AA batteries in all of the AA shavers.

– I bought this for use on holidays a few years ago. Thanks to Covid I haven’t been traveling for the last few years, so it’s probably had a total of 3 or 4 weeks use on holiday over that time. It’s been stored without batteries, but when I put batteries in before a recent weekend away I found the on / off switch is now permanently on. It’s still usable if I take the batteries out after every use, but that is not very convienient, and this isn’t the quality I’d expect of a razor of this price

My Best Portable Shaver, Better than my Braun … Better Than My Home Braun – I’m not a big fan of the prior editions of Panasonic travel shavers … I owned one and it was very anemic, wouldn’t shave well at all … but this current model blows me away, it runs faster and stronger off its batteries than my Braun runs off its (both use AA’s). For that matter it runs stronger and better than my standard, home edition Braun. Let me put it up front: I’m a big Braun fan, they have served me well for years, but this inexpensive Panasonic travel sharpener is good enough, for me, for home use. It also has a great shape, great industrial design, did they hire Braun’s designer or give someone with a new way of looking at things free reign to innovate? ’cause this is amazingly good looking and strong performing, shocking at $15 (batteries not included!).
